Darianne is my professional name (and real name) but family and friends
call me Dolly. Since childhood I have always been drawing something, but my formal art training came from Tulsa University and Tulsa Junior College. I did watercolor for several years, and for
the past two years I have been studying oil painting with Barbara Courtney
in Grove, OK (I will always consider myself a student!). I had my first one-man art show this past winter at a small winery in Vinita, OK. In
addition to attending art clinics, I also enjoy studying the works of
Richard Schmid, Carl Rungius, Nicholia Fechin and Sorolla of Spain.
When left to myself, I gravitate toward painting landscapes and animals, but my instructors
insist I continue to attempt still lifes and portraits. (Good teachers always
ask us to stretch ourselves!) I enjoyed talking a little about myself, and
now I hope you will enjoy browsing through the artwork.
